All About Pixie Group

Pixie class are a Year 1 class who are full of enthusiasm and eagerness to try new things.

Our trip to the Toy Museum

This term our first Topic is ‘Toys’.  We have been exploring toys of the past and comparing them with toys today.  In English we have been reading ‘Old Bear’ stories by Jane Hissey.  We have enjoyed learning about the adventures of Old Bear and his friends. Also, we have been learning about Guy Fawkes and undertaken very special remembrance activities commemorating 100 years since the end of the First World War.

We enjoy practical activities and venturing outside to stimulate our learning. We try our best and do our best to not give up when things get tricky because with practise we can do anything we set our minds to. Our favourite things to do are sing and dance to help our learning.

Pixie class have PE lessons on Tuesday and Wednesday. This term we are learning to throw and catch accurately and learn simple dance routines, so it is essential we have both our indoor and outdoor PE kits in school on these days. Please ensure that your child’s earrings have been removed and long hair has been tied up on these days.

We love to share what we’re proud of with our families so keep checking Tapestry for regular updates.
